I
have had several experiences with using technology throughout my education in
college. However, I was not so fortunate in grade school to have such alternative
learning experiences. With having recent experiences I can see how technology
can enhance a classroom and the use of technology to benefit students in their
learning. During my time with service learning, I have been able to observe
teachers use different methods of technology and then myself being able to do
so during my time in the classroom as well. Some of my experiences include the
use of PowerPoint, smart board, Ipads, Google docs, computers, projectors, etc.
In
my future career as a teacher, the use of technology will be implemented within
my classroom. It is important for teachers to be up to date and current with
the vast technological changes that are evolving in our world. Otherwise, we
will not be able to connect with our students nor will we be able to fully set
them up for success. With each school district being different with what
technologies they are able to provide, I presume that in the near future more
and more schools will be able to be supplied with such things as a smart board
and ipads. Being given so I will implement these devices into our daily lessons
to enhance and try to meet the needs of my students. I also believe that technology
should not be the only way to teach my students as I think it is important for
peer work and collaboration to occur, along with me being able to guide them as
their teacher.
